On Sunday, Donald Trump Jr. will headline a $1000-a-plate dinner ([link removed]) for Greg Gianforte in Helena.

Gianforte is not only interested in buying the Governor’s mansion, he wants to buy himself a lapdog as Attorney General, too. That’s why he’s running lockstep with career legislator Austin Knudsen, the far-right’s top choice for Attorney General.

I sent a note about legislator Knudsen before, noting his bizarre pledge as Attorney General to “build a wall with Mexico” and “repeal the Affordable Care Act”--not things the Montana Attorney General does or should support.

Don Jr, Gianforte, and legislator Knudsen have campaigned together before. Expect to see this group more and more in 2020.

Here’s what we know: Greg Gianforte will spend a tremendous amount of personal wealth to get him and his friend legislator Kundsen elected in 2020. But we also know that Montanans have overwhelmingly rejected Gianforte and his politics before: sending him packing in 2016, and rejecting the “build the wall” arguments in the 2018 Senate race made by Trump Jr. and Matt Rosendale.

I will be an independent watchdog for your rights as Attorney General, no matter who the Governor is.
