Arizona Agencies Want To Hire Veterans

Veterans are some of the most dedicated and skilled workers – and the State of Arizona wants to hire them. The March 30 AZHiresVets! hiring event will kick off Governor Doug Ducey’s goal to double the number of veterans serving in state government

The hiring event, from 9 to 11 a.m. in Wesley Bolin Plaza at the State Capitol, will help veterans learn more about careers to continue their public service, with more than 20 state agencies attending.

Arizona PBS: Col. Wright discusses Arizona Veterans hiring initiative
The veteran hiring initiative aims to increase the percentage of veterans in the state’s workforce from 8.5 percent to 15 percent by 2025. AZHiresVets! will be directly connecting job-seeking veterans with state agency recruiters and hiring managers during two hiring events on March 30 and April 28 in Phoenix. Earlier we spoke with Colonel Wanda Wright, the Director of the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services for more.

ABC15: State of Arizona starts hiring campaign to bring on more veterans
The hiring campaign is called AZHiresVets! and will be coordinated by multiple state agencies including the governor's office. Governor Doug Ducey talked about his desire to hire more former troops during his State of the State address. "We are blessed to be a magnet for America’s veterans," he said.
