But it wasn't mine! This campaign never runs out of gas. And that's thanks to you.
Yes, I pushed a car.
Yesterday, I was in St. Louis. I stopped to get gas. As you can imagine, having traveled 33,000 miles and participated in over 300 meetings, this is something I do regularly.
While I'm filling up at the corner of Delmar and Hanley, I hear someone shouting. I look over to the street and there is a young man pushing a car all by himself with a young lady steering. I hop on over along with another bystander. We push the particularly heavy car up the incline and to the pump next to mine.
These folks had run out of gas. I told them about the importance of checking their gas gauge and how cars don't drive too well without fuel. After they got situated, I gave them my cell phone number and told them to text me any ideas for Missouri. They were so happy, not just because some stranger in a tie and dress shoes had helped get their car going, but because a candidate wanted to hear their ideas. They excitedly said they'd vote in 2020.
A couple of local media outlets reported that I had run out of gas on the campaign trail. I want to be very clear: This campaign never runs out of gas. That's thanks to you.
This campaign is different. It's not fueled by concentrating power at the top. Its energy comes from Missourians all over our state. Its goal is to help us all rise together. It's why we have one of the biggest volunteer networks in Missouri. It's why I regularly stop to help Missourians with car trouble. And it's why we are going to take back Missouri.

Folks, we are just a little over one gas tank away from breaking $100,000 raised in this campaign and 148 donations of any amount away from breaking the 2000-donation barrier! You don't have to have much to be part of this campaign. You just have to care.
Will you stand with us?

The Kansas City Star's investigative report ([link removed]) finds that Missouri's unsupported public defender system violates defendants' civil rights every day. Our current Attorney General is actively trying to keep the system broken and deny Missourians their constitutional rights.
Elad will be in Poplar Bluff today, in the Cape Girardeau area tomorrow, and Perryville tomorrow afternoon before heading back to St. Louis.
