Read about our fight for a CUNY New Deal in the New Yorker

Dear friend,

Momentum is building for a New Deal for CUNY. Just this past week, our fight has been covered in Curbed, City & State and Capital Tonight. And our very own intern, Jackson, had an op-ed published in the Daily News.

We are especially proud of the recent piece in the New Yorker featuring myself and CUNY student, Juvanie, about why it is critical that we win billions in new funding for CUNY.

Investing in CUNY is the best way to invest in the economic recovery for New York State.  With the state budget due any day now, I need your help so I can keep fighting for CUNY.  If you believe in the New Deal for CUNY and want to help push us to the end of the budget negotiations, could you chip in today to show your support?

Underinvestment in CUNY has meant cutting academic programs, reducing student counseling and letting actual ceilings fall down – all while tuition keeps increasing. Without a New Deal for CUNY we shortchange our students.  But it doesn’t have to be this way: we can, and we must, do better for our state, our city, and our CUNY.

A New Deal for CUNY would mean repairing crumbling buildings, investing in full-time faculty, and making sure students have the support they need to thrive academically and in their careers.

Will you support me so I can keep up the fight?

Let’s bring our New Deal for CUNY home!

With endless gratitude and hope,

Andrew
