Kansas Republicans just passed a bill that would prohibit local units of government from regulating or taxing plastic bags and carry-out food wrappings. For the Party that likes to brag about preserving local government, this bill is a massive Republican invasion for control.

Local governments have the right to pass laws and set regulations that benefit their communities, and this overreach by Republicans is nothing more than a power-grab for statewide control.
