Hi John,
With a MAJOR quarterly fundraising deadline on Thursday, we wanted to take a moment to show you what Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot has been up to for the first part of the year!
In February, she announced the Chicago Resilient Communities pilot, one of the most progressive basic income programs in the nation. This program will assist 5,000 low-income households by providing a $500 monthly stipend.
She also celebrated the opening of the "Go Green" Community Fresh Market, an equitable development neighborhood initiative that will provide fresh food to Chicago's Englewood neighborhood.
Earlier this month, Mayor Lightfoot joined leaders from across the state to stand in solidarity with Chicago's Ukrainian community. Last week, she met with the Mayor of Warsaw, Poland to discuss welcoming Ukrainian refugees to our city.
And, last but not least, she celebrated one of our city's favorite holidays with her fellow Chicagoans on St. Patrick's Day.
We may only be three months into the year, but we've already seen how deeply committed Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot is to our city. We want to continue making huge strides for Chicago, but in order to do so, we need the support of people just like yourself to chip in whatever you can, whenever you can.
Thank you for your continued support,
— Team Lightfoot
