Hi John,
Yesterday, Governor DeSantis signed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill into law. This bill is not only shameful, but also incredibly dangerous. It attacks some of the most vulnerable children in our state and goes after families like mine. I believe that ALL children must be protected and ALL parents must be supported.
Under Florida’s current leadership, our rights and freedoms are slowly being chiseled away. Just a few years ago, weeks before my first daughter was born, it became legal in Florida for me to sign her birth certificate. On the same day my second daughter was born, this bill passed the Florida Legislature.
Earlier this month, I went to Tallahassee to speak up in opposition to this bill. And I even appeared on CNN en Español to tell my story [[link removed]] .

If this year’s session taught us anything, it’s that we need strong voices in Tallahassee speaking up in defense of our rights and fighting for meaningful policy change.
Instead of burdening underpaid teachers with more laws that make it harder for them to do their job, we should be tackling the real issues impacting teachers and working families.
A fter what we saw in Tallahassee this year, our mission to win in November is even more important. Can you make a donation today before our end-of-month deadline? [[link removed]]
