I’m reaching out to you because a big filing deadline is coming up for campaigns across the country. The newest members of the New Mexico congressional delegation, Xochitl Torres-Small and Deb Haaland could really use your support before Sunday.
Xochitl and Deb hit the ground running when they were sworn in to the House a few months ago. They’re doing everything they can to fight hard for New Mexicans, but with Republicans eager to take back the House, they need to be in a financially strong position to ward off potential opponents. After the deadline on June 30th, all of their fundraising numbers will become public, which is what I’m asking for your help with now.

Xochitl flipped NM-02 blue last year in one of the closest races nationwide. Already, the GOP has signaled they will make this race one of their top targets. On top of that, she already has multiple Republican opponents vying to challenge her next year, so she needs to show them she’s not going anywhere.
We also cannot take Deb’s re-election for granted either. In 2008, I was the first Democrat ever elected to represent this district. I faced an uphill battle during my first re-election campaign, which is why I want to help Deb as much as I can during hers.
It’s so important to re-elect Xochitl and Deb, not only to help Democrats keep the House, but because I know they will continue to be strong partners on priorities New Mexicans care about the most, from health care to protecting our public lands.
