For the past 10 years, Global Citizen has called for action to end extreme poverty, inspiring nearly 30M actions and $41B in dispersed funding along the way. But the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, combined with decades of neglect from our leaders and, as of late, the war in Ukraine, has wiped away years of progress.
Our New Campaign.
Today, Global Citizen unveiled End Extreme Poverty NOW. Our Future Can’t Wait, our new campaign calling on governments, private sector leaders, and billionaires to make the commitments that are so urgently needed to achieve our goal of a world free from extreme poverty.
This year-long campaign will focus on three critical issues on which the world can no longer afford to wait to make change:
Breaking systemic barriers that keep people trapped in poverty.
Taking climate action now.
Empowering young women and adolescent girls across the world.
Throughout the year, we’ll also work to defend advocacy – lifting up marginalized voices so that leaders hear them and deliver on their promises.
