It’s been just over two years since the World Health Organization first declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Since then, we’ve seen lockdowns, health care systems pushed to the brink, new variants, and a safe and effective vaccine rapidly developed. We've also felt isolated, anxious, hopeful, doubtful, inspired, and everything in between.
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams have been through it all—responding to this pandemic at every phase and adapting constantly to provide lifesaving care in hotspots including Brazil, India, and more than 70 countries around the world. But in many of the places we work, COVID-19 has made existing crises worse—or created new ones.
This video explores the many challenges MSF teams are still working to overcome and helps us reflect on the work that’s been done. Watch the video:
Friend, there is no question: We have a lot of work to do to get everyone access to the vaccines, treatments, and tests they need to prevent the spread of COVID-19. And we know it won't be over for anyone until we achieve pandemic protection for all. We're truly in this together.
