HEA 1116 safeguards our election voting system with common-sense rules and
regulations

John,
With new technology comes new threats to our election system.
That’s why Governor Holcomb signed HEA 1116, which safeguards our electronic
voting systems with common-sense rules and regulations.
Our elections have been safe and secure in Indiana, but this bill sets our
state up to thwart nefarious actors in the future by adding new levels of
transparency and security.
Here is a brief breakdown of the bill:
* Requires that an individual must provide either their Indiana driver's
license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number to apply
for an absentee ballot.
* Requires voter-verifiable paper audit trails in every county by 2024,
allowing for additional post-election audits and for voters to independently
verify their vote was correctly recorded.
* Extends the Secretary of State’s cybersecurity contract to protect against
potential attacks.
Governor Holcomb’s signing of HEA 1116 reaffirms his commitment to
safeguarding our electronic election system and maintaining our election
integrity in Indiana.
As always, Eric is proud to have your support.
Sincerely,
Holcomb Crew
