Monday Nature Mystery

Congratulations to Fred for correctly identifying the Eastern Comma butterfly, Polygonia comma. According to Butterflies and Moths of North America ([link removed]) , these butterflies eat rotting fruit and tree sap and lay eggs on elm and nettle trees. Their wingspan is 1 3/4 - 2 1/2 inches.
