Boozman Bulletin

The answer to lower gas prices is staring us in the face. I’ve urged the Biden administration to end its policies blocking construction of the Keystone XL pipeline and banning new energy development on federal land. It’s time for the president to unleash American energy production using the abundance of our nation’s resources to help provide relief from skyrocketing fuel prices and increase our energy independence.

Last week I visited Welspun Pipes, Inc and talked about the crucial role the Keystone XL pipeline plays in achieving American energy independence. In August 2020, the company announced an order for more than one million feet of 36-inch pipe for use on the Keystone XL pipeline that would directly provide 500 jobs in Little Rock. President Biden canceled construction of the pipeline. The president must answer for and reverse his wrong policies resulting in our high gas prices.

Delivering Legislative Victories for Women Veterans

I championed a pair of legislative initiatives to modernize breast cancer screening policies and the delivery of lifesaving care for women veterans unanimously approved by the U.S. Senate last week. I'm proud of these important measures to benefit our nation's veterans. They deserve the best health care available.

Learn more about these legislative wins:

Given the dangerous environments in which military members serve and additional risk factors associated with these locations, it’s long overdue the Department of Veterans Affairs update its policies for administering mammograms.

Protecting Americans Against Russian Cyberattacks

I’ve called for stronger protections and improved education to prevent security breaches while supporting an expanded role for Arkansas in cybersecurity. Just days ago, President Biden warned of Russian cyberattacks on American businesses and infrastructure. We must be proactive and do better at anticipating the next steps of Russia and other adversaries.

I spoke with Nexstar Media Group about my push for the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security to provide resources for public and private institutions to defend themselves against cyberattacks.

 White House’s Misplaced Priorities

The Biden administration continues its failed record of pushing misplaced priorities. Yesterday, the White House released its budget request for Fiscal Year 2023, but instead of focusing on the immediate needs of Americans, it is doubling down on rejected ideas of a Green New Deal.

As ranking member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, I called out the administration’s failure to support rural communities and shared the concerns I hear from Arkansas agricultural producers about the president’s misplaced priorities and misguided policies in a recent hearing.
