I am writing to ask if you can make a contribution to my campaign for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin. Please give me a chance to explain why your contribution – especially today – is so important.

This Thursday is an important FEC fundraising deadline, and our campaign has some big goals to meet before it ends. Since I'm not taking any corporate PAC money, I'm counting on contributions from people like you to flip this seat for Democrats.

The Cook Political Report rates this race a toss up, which means we need to win Wisconsin if we're going to defend the Democratic Senate majority.

The polls show that I am the best candidate to defeat Ron Johnson. But the truth is that running a successful campaign in a state as competitive as Wisconsin takes an incredible amount of resources.

That is why I am asking you directly:

The race to defeat Ron Johnson is officially on, and we don't have any time to waste.

There is no question that Wisconsin's Senate seat is one of the most likely to flip in November. But defeating Ron Johnson is going to require all of us. I cannot do it alone.
