Ruth’s List Florida is announcing our newest endorsement, Ashley Gantt for House District 109.

A native of Miami, Ashley is an attorney and a former public defender and Miami-Dade public school teacher. Ashley is challenging incumbent Representative James Bush, an anti-choice Democrat and career politician who’s been in and out of the state legislature for the past 30 years. Bush was the only Democrat in the entire legislature to vote in favor of the bill to ban abortion after 15 weeks with no exceptions for rape or incest that now sits on the Governor’s desk.

We could not be more excited to see Ashley Gantt enter this race. We’ve known from day one that she is the right candidate to take on this challenge. She will be a true representative for her constituents and will work to solve problems for her district, increasing access to affordable housing, improving public education, and reforming our criminal justice system.
