Dear John,

Nadiia and her family were already once forced to leave their home in eastern Ukraine in 2014.

Now less than a decade later, they have been forced to flee again. Nadiia understands what it means to be displaced from her home—this is what motivated her to join UNHCR. She is now working with us in Kyiv as a Field Assistant. We have nearly 120 staff in Ukraine – and many of them have been forced from their homes due to this relentless war.

Despite the personal risk, Nadiia is focused on how she can help others.

“These people who deal with this for the first time in their lives, they are overwhelmed with emotions—and I know which emotions these are.”

Nadiia and our colleagues in Ukraine are working every day with people who have been forced from their homes to find out what their most urgent needs are and coordinate the delivery of aid. Our teams are working with local authorities and partners to identify and stock buildings for safe shelter and providing relief items, psychological counselling and cash assistance to people who have lost their homes. Your donation today can help Nadiia and our colleagues continue this important work.

“Now I feel like I can help these people understand that life goes on, no matter how difficult life is. There is always some light at the end of the tunnel.”

You can help people forced to flee their homes in Ukraine. Please donate again today.

Best regards,
