I have a spare 15 minutes in my schedule today, John. It may not sound like much, but I'm working nonstop to guide New Mexico to a brighter future, so breaks like these are rare.
With a few minutes of free time on my hands, I want to tell you more about my story and why I am so proud of what my administration has accomplished over the past three years.
My family has been living in New Mexico for 12 generations, and I have dedicated my career to serving the communities that raised me. After decades of public service, I decided to run for Governor – and with help from people like you, I became the first Democratic Hispanic woman elected as Governor in U.S. history.
In just the last three years, I'm so proud of what my administration has been able to accomplish:
* I safeguarded our reproductive rights as the GOP attempted to enact near-total abortion bans in other states.
* I legalized cannabis to take a step toward ending the war on drugs, which has disproportionately harmed Black and brown communities.
* I just signed a bill that will provide free higher education to every New Mexico student – opening doors for a generation of young adults.
I've accomplished all of this and so much more with a massive grassroots team behind me – but to continue passing some of the boldest, most progressive policies in the country, I need your sustained support.
I wasn't able to raise a single dollar from December through March 9 because of regulations around state legislative sessions. To make up for lost time, I need to raise $150,000 before my end-of-quarter deadline on Thursday.
I can't defend New Mexico from the GOP without your help, so will you please donate tonight to help me reach my goal before the end of the month?

Thank you so much for your support,
Michelle Lujan Grisham
