Yesterday, Judge David Carter handed down a damning ruling ordering the Trump Administration to submit over 100 documents to the January 6th Commission. As a result, we've learned that there are 7 hours of White House phone records missing from 11:17 a.m. to 6:54 p.m. on January 6th, roughly the hours of the attack on the Capitol.

"The illegality of the plan was obvious… Every American — and certainly the President of the United States — knows that in a democracy, leaders are elected, not installed. With a plan this 'BOLD,' President Trump knowingly tried to subvert this fundamental principle. Based on the evidence, the Court finds it more likely than not that President Trump corruptly attempted to obstruct the joint session of Congress on January 6, 2021.”

These are the words that Judge David Carter handed down in a ruling ordering the Trump administration to submit the evidence raising so many eyebrows in Washington today, but he didn’t stop there,

"[Trump] launched a campaign to overturn a democratic election, an action unprecedented in American history. Their campaign was not confined to the ivory tower — it was a coup in search of a legal theory. The plan spurred violent attacks on the seat of our nation’s government, led to the deaths of several law enforcement officers, and deepened public distrust in our political process... If the country does not commit to investigating and pursuing accountability for those responsible, the Court fears January 6 will repeat itself."

We couldn’t agree more. While Judge Carter’s judgment is undoubtedly damning, it’s also an urgent reminder that our window to hold Trump and The 147 accountable for the January 6th Insurrection is closing fast. Democrats only have eight months left to find out who Trump was speaking to when on January 6th and hold the insurrectionists accountable if Republicans win back the House.
