John,
My name is Pam Campos-Palma — I’m the proud daughter of Central American immigrants, a war veteran, and have dedicated myself to organizing for a more humane, equitable, and demilitarized world. And as Director of Peace and Security at the Working Families Party, I am committed to justice, freedom, and a world without war.
Today, Tuesday, March 29 at 7PM ET — Join me, WFP Peace and Security leader Kate Kizer, and Aya Saed, Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to Congresswoman Cori Bush for a community conversation on the situation unfolding in the Ukraine and what we can do in this moment to respond with compassion and clarity.
In our community huddle, we will share reflections and answer your questions about what's happening and how our struggle for freedom here is intimately connected to the struggle for liberation pursued by working people around the world.

Putin's invasion of Ukraine shocked the world and is exposing the insecurity caused not only by a strongman's invasion, but also the ongoing threat to our collective security posed by nuclear weapons, corruption, and our dependence on fossil fuels.
While politicians and war profiteers have jumped at militaristic solutions to this crisis, we know that, just like the dozens of other conflicts around the world where people are rising up against injustice and for their freedom, war is the worst abuse of human rights and there is a better way.
In solidarity,
Pam Campos-Palma
Director of Peace and Security
