I’m about to ask you to split a donation between my friend Maggie Hassan’s re-election campaign and my own efforts to retain the Senate majority.

If we lose Maggie’s race in New Hampshire, our odds of holding the Senate are slim. There’s almost no path to keeping the majority without Maggie, and the New York Times and Cook Political Report both just called her one of the most vulnerable Senators.

So she needs our movement to have her back.

If you want to stop Mitch McConnell from becoming majority leader, please split a donation of $5 or whatever you can between Maggie Hassan’s re-election and my campaign today. Your support before the FEC deadline on Thursday is important.

Maggie Hassan is a great friend and brings an important perspective to the Senate. Maggie got her start in public service as an advocate to ensure that children like her son Ben, who experiences severe disabilities, would be fully included in their communities and have the same opportunities that all parents want for their children.

She was also only the second woman in history to be elected both governor and senator.

We only have our majority today because Maggie flipped New Hampshire’s seat in 2016 by a mere 1,017 votes.

It doesn’t get much closer than that, and the truth is it could be just as close this fall. Republicans have already spent more than $7.5 million attacking her campaign.

Everything we do — every phone call, door knock and dollar — will make a difference when the votes are counted in November. So with the FEC deadline just three days away, I need to ask:

Can you split a $5 donation between Maggie Hassan’s re-election and my efforts to hold Democrats’ Senate majority? Please know I would not ask if this were not important.

The FEC deadline is our chance to demonstrate that the grassroots are fired up and that Democrats have what it takes to win in November. So thank you for chipping in if you can.
