Highlights from the Negev Summit + Rep. Haley Stevens event Thursday
AIPAC Update
A.,
An historic event took place in Israel this past weekend – an event that you helped make possible.
The work we do to strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship helped create the environment for the Abraham Accords to be realized.
This weekend, our vision for a strong and secure Israel at peace with its neighbors took another step forward.
For the first time, the foreign ministers from the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco and Egypt were in Israel together meeting with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
The National Board of Directors and I have been in Israel this past week meeting with Israeli officials. The optimism of the Abraham Accords strikes a true contrast with the threats posed by Iran and the pending nuclear agreement that will make the region more dangerous.
We have also heard about concerns regarding efforts by the United Nations to further isolate and demonize Israel. A forthcoming, so-called "Commission of Inquiry" by the U.N. Human Rights Council will likely and libelously label Israel an "apartheid state."
Over the past month, AIPAC has lobbied senators to sign a bipartisan letter to combat anti-Israel discrimination at the U.N.
Today, more than two-thirds of the Senate signed and sent that letter to Secretary Blinken, urging the Biden administration to stop the U.N.’s "discriminatory and unwarranted treatment of Israel," including the U.N. Human Rights Council’s new anti-Israel "Commission of Inquiry."
As we return home later this week, I look forward to providing further updates from our trip, and the work we must do to strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship to ensure Israel always remains strong and secure, and can further realize the dream of living in peace with its regional partners.
Get to know Congresswoman Haley Stevens, who represents Michigan's 11th district. Rep. Stevens shares memories from her first trip to Israel with AIEF, her excitement around U.S.-Israel cooperation in science and technology, and her feelings on the bias that Israel faces at the United Nations.
Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA) joins AIPAC to discuss why she supports a strong U.S.-Israel relationship, the growing threats facing Israel, and the importance of U.S.-Israel missile defense cooperation.
Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) joins AIPAC to discuss his path from the FBI to the halls of Congress, the shared threats facing America and Israel, and the importance of bipartisanship.

As Israel hosts diplomats from Arab countries, a second ISIS-inspired attack by Arab-Israeli citizens hit the city of Hadera. Palestinians have called on social media "to carry out attacks against what they call the summit of evil."
On June 1, 2017, U.S. authorities arrested two Hezbollah sleeper agents. The operatives had created targeting packages with ready-to go-plans for possible attacks, in the event Iranian or Hezbollah leaders deemed them necessary. Where were their targets?
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
