We are so excited to host our first in-person event ([link removed]) in two years on Friday, April 8! And now we have even more reason to celebrate.

We are deeply grateful to Williams Institute founders Charles R. Williams and Stu Walter for their recent gift totaling more than $3 million. Their generous donation will support the Institute's endowment, helping us to build a foundation for future growth. It will also fund a new senior scholar position, enabling us to produce more independent research that meets this period of unprecedented policy change.

Our new senior scholar position will be instrumental in numerous projects at the Williams Institute, including
* Responding to anti-LGBTQ state legislation. This year has the highest level of anti-LGBTQ state legislation that we have ever seen, including attacks on non-discrimination laws, marriage equality, and LGBTQ youth.
* Advancing federal data collection and policies. The Biden administration has relied on Williams Institute research and scholars to help advance data collection about LGBTQ people and to develop LGBTQ supportive policies.
* Supporting solutions for those most in need. The Institute remains committed to a research agenda that supports those most in need. Our new initiatives include researching food insecurity among LGBTQ people, housing and care alternatives for LGBTQ older adults, access to health and reproductive care, and LGBTQI international data collection from the Balkans to Latin America.

We are so thankful for Chuck and Stu's decades of generosity – and yours – that allows us to do this important work. I hope to see you on April 8 to celebrate. See details on how to RSVP below.
