As the House Democratic Caucus chair, Hakeem is focused on executing the For the People agenda — which means fighting to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, rebuild our economy, lower health care costs, increase pay for American workers, provide more affordable housing, and so much more.

However, for the moment, our energy is being focused on the Supreme Court where Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will make history as the first Black female Supreme Court justice despite the efforts of some Senate Republicans.

Republicans have put on full display their willingness to bend to the most fringe and dangerous parts of their party. They are trying to inject critical race theory and religious litmus tests into a confirmation process that has nothing to do with those things.

It’s very clear now that this has nothing to do with the Supreme Court and everything to do with the GOP's plan to take back the majorities in the House and Senate — something we cannot allow to happen this year.
