Friend - Close your eyes and imagine an abundant future.
👁️ What does it look like in your mind’s eye? When I picture an abundant future, I see the privilege and ability for everyone to take up the space and receive all the resources they need to live safe, dignified lives reaching our full potential. I see us proudly celebrating each other's existence and vibrant, rich cultures. I’m sharing this with you because I just went to Emancipation Park in Houston to experience our Move Into the Future racial justice exhibit and it really got me thinking about an abundant future.
Move Into The Future is an art piece commissioned by United we Dream and Black Lives Matter Houston & brought to life by Black, brown, Indigenous, and immigrant artists. 👟This sculpture, crafted in the shape of a walking pair of sneakers, highlights how we will reclaim our interconnected history, build racial solidarity, and “Move Into the Future” with abundance together. Can you join me by checking out the website to take a tour of the sculpture and learn about the artists?

As someone who has lived in Houston for over a decade, I’m constantly reminded of the ways we stay Houston Strong by uniting to support one another through tragedies, natural disasters, and political attacks. We rely on our own communities to build each other from the ground up time and time again.
Nothing can take away the community care that we have for one another. ✊Take a few minutes to enjoy your own virtual tour of the sculpture and learn about the artists and their vision for how we’ll Move Into the Future together.
