In just 3 days, AIPAC's fiscal quarter will come to a close, and I’m writing to once again ask for your support.
As I'm sure you know, Israel continues to face significant challenges. Since the start of the year:
Iran and its proxy terror forces have launched nine drone attacks against Israel and other allies across the region.
Amnesty International began a full-scale campaign attacking Israel, ridiculously calling Israel an “apartheid” state. Amnesty's executive director said, point blank, that Israel "shouldn’t exist as a Jewish state.”
A new report revealed the Palestinian Authority continues to publish textbooks that encourage violence against Israelis, including inspiring children to pursue "jihad" and to remove all Jews from Israel.
In just the past week alone:
Four Israelis were killed and two others wounded in a stabbing and car ramming attack in Beersheba. Hamas referred to the attack on civilians as "heroic operations" and called for more such attacks.
Two gunmen killed two Israeli police officers in the northern Israeli city of Hadera. The terrorists are believed to be supporters of the Islamic State.
With these dangers growing, it is important to remember that you can do something tangible to help keep Israel safe.
You can work with AIPAC to help ensure our leaders in Washington understand the escalating threats throughout the Middle East and the need for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship.
America and Israel need each other now more than ever before, and your support for AIPAC is needed more than ever before.
Together, we must work to keep the vital U.S.-Israel bond strong.
Together, we must ensure America continues to stand by Israel with the critical security assistance needed to keep its citizens safe from growing threats across the Middle East.
Together, we must work to advance the strategic partnership between the United States and Israel, particularly in critical arenas such as defense, intelligence, homeland security, energy, science and trade.
We must do all of this so that, together, we can send a strong message that America and Israel stand shoulder-to-shoulder.
Sincerely,
Brian Shankman
Chief Strategy Director for National Affairs
