Seven years ago, dairy workers from Vermont – inspired by the unprecedented success of the innovative, worker-led human rights model launched in 2011 on dozens of Fair Food Program farms – traveled from the snowy northeast to join the CIW in the lead up to the 2015 Concert for Fair Food, shadowing their CIW colleagues as they organized in Immokalee and across the country. Also during that visit, workers with the Migrant Justice delegation began imagining how they might adapt the FFP model to the dairy industry in what would become, just a few short years later, the Milk with Dignity Program, the first domestic replication of the WSR model following the Fair Food Program.
Now, in 2022, that first-ever collaborative adaptation of the Fair Food Program in the U.S. has grown to include budding WSR initiatives in the U.S. construction and poultry industries, among others, as well as the establishment of the Worker-driven Social Responsibility Network (WSRN) [[link removed]] , with the mission to "build understanding of the model among a wide range of relevant actors, provide support and resources for worker-led efforts to replicate the model, and shift the paradigm to establish the model as the baseline for workers’ rights programs within global supply chains."
This week, we are thrilled to welcome Migrant Justice back to Immokalee, together with worker leaders from CTUL, based in the Twin Cities, and Venceremos , based in Arkansas, for an exciting convening of WSR worker practitioners, and to march together during the March to End Modern Slavery in the Fields [[link removed]] .
We want to invite you to join the exchange, virtually, this Thursday at 5 p.m. EST to learn first-hand from workers what the future holds for WSR in the United States, in their communities, and in the many industries where the model's unique power has yet to be established but is desperately needed.

Please join a discussion hosted by the Worker-driven Social Responsibility Network and the Coalition of Immokalee Workers among frontline worker organizations who will speak on the WSR model, different stages of its implementation, and how workers are taking the lead across the country to shift power and enforce human rights in a wide range of workplaces.
From agricultural fields and dairy farms to now construction sites and poultry plants, practitioners of Worker-driven Social Responsibility are pioneering a scalable and expanding model for the enforcement of workers’ rights.
