Local elections in 2022 are going to have a huge impact on a lot of people. Holding onto the Senate and House of Representatives is crucial, but many of the policies that impact everyday Americans are created and implemented by Mayors, County Executives, and School Boards.

Last year, Glenn Youngkin latched onto a dog-whistle, Critical Race Theory, and Virginia Republicans rode it to power in Richmond. They capitalized on the furor and fed voters misinformation time and again for one objective — turn Virginia red.

This year, with dozens of crucial local elections around the commonwealth, the DPVA has already implemented a training program for our local candidates and local committees members.

We’ve established a Local Candidates Program department at DPVA HQ — a department dedicated to supporting local candidates and committees, and we’re making record investments into building the Democratic Party of Virginia from the top down and bottom up.

With your support, DPVA HQ can continue to build on this solid foundation we’ve put in place. Expanding programs to include new campaigns, providing more training and support, and organizing year round in our cities and rural communities and everywhere in between.
