Dear Friend, Breaking news Friday night revealed that Kathy Hochul's handpicked Lieutenant Governor Brian Benjamin is under federal investigation. The U.S. Attorney's Office has issued subpoenas to state officials and Senate employees on money Benjamin steered to projects in his former Harlem Senate District. This isn't Benjamin's first brush with the law--in fact, his corruption is well-documented, but Kathy Hochul picked him anyway. New Yorkers are continuing to pay the price for Cuomo's corruption, aided and abetted by his former partner, Complicit Kathy. We also found out this week she is using millions of taxpayer dollars to pay the legal fees of disgraced Cuomo staffers. The Hochul-Benjamin Administration is just as corrupt as the Cuomo-Hochul one. The corruption is bad, but so too is their agenda. Now that Hochul has realized her horrific bail reform law is a political problem for her, she put out a press release saying she's fighting for changes in the budget. Both her and her "defund the police" proponent LG Benjamin then spent the week running away from reporters and refusing to answer questions. Hochul is carrying the water of the radical progressives while trying to tell the public she cares about safety. The truth is, not only was she at the top of the administration that signed it into law but she's spent the last several years as one of the law's biggest cheerleaders. There is no doubt that she is still trying to play both sides and that's why on Friday morning, we filed a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request on all communications the governor's office is having related to bail reform. GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy submitted a freedom of information law request to obtain all communication on bail reform to the Governor’s administration. Langworthy saying that with election time coming up, the Governor is now politically motivated to make changes to the bill when she was previously a proponent. The Chairman says rather than making adjustments, bail reform should be fully repealed and credits the rise in crime to the legislation. “I mean they’re claiming that there’s no data. It’s just obvious that we have a new spike in crime. When criminals and people that will knowingly commit crimes are just let out of jail with no recourse you’re going to have a lot more crime on their hands,” he said. Brian Benjamin NY Daily News Federal investigators have issued subpoenas and are seeking information about grants related to Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin’s time as a state senator, the Daily News has learned. Investigators with the Southern District of New York have subpoenaed state officials and Senate employees as they probe money Benjamin steered toward projects in his former Harlem district, a source with direct knowledge of the matter told The News. The inquiry is related to funds doled out through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, or SAM, a lump sum appropriation in the state budget administered through the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, according to the source. Read Full Here Molinaro critical of Delgado’s alleged flip on supporting law enforcement Mid-Hudson News Chairman Langworthy was in Poughkeepsie to support local Republicans and chastise Delgado. Langworthy said that replacing Delgado with Molinaro is a top priority of state Republicans. Langworthy pointed out that Democrats spent the last election cycle praising cashless bail and lobbying to defund the police. In recent days, Delgado has traveled the district to announce additional funding for law enforcement. Kathy Hochul is seeking to spend up to $5 million in taxpayer money to pay the legal bills of dozens of current and former state employees who got caught up in the sexual harassment scandal that forced ex-Gov Andrew Cuomo from office, The Post has learned. The move could benefit Cuomo cronies who stayed loyal to the disgraced ex-governor to the very end of his scandal-scarred tenure — including former aide Melissa DeRosa. But DeRosa, when reached by phone Wednesday night, said, “I am not seeking reimbursement for either the nursing-homes investigation or the attorney general’s sexual-harassment investigation.” But, she added, it was “appropriate” for the other public employees to get reimbursement for outside counsel at the advice of the state. Hochul has been discussing the matter with Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and Attorney General Letitia James, sources familiar with the matter said. There must be a compelling public interest for subverting the equal application of our laws. What is it?" Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch was equally opposed. "We have been suing the city for months over its arbitrary and capricious vaccine mandate — this is exactly what we are talking about. If the mandate isn’t necessary for famous people, then it’s not necessary for the cops who are protecting our city in the middle of a crime crisis," Lynch said. "While celebrities were in lockdown, New York City police officers were on the street throughout the pandemic, working without adequate PPE and in many cases contracting and recovering from COVID themselves," he added.
