Friend --
Give Miami Day –
South Florida’s biggest annual day for charitable giving to 501(c)3
organizations is just two days away, on this Thursday, November
21st.
As a 501(c)4, Bullsugar.org is not
qualified to participate in this giving event. Instead, we’d like to
encourage our supporters to consider contributing to our
tax-exempt sister organization, Friends of the
Everglades.
Friends of the Everglades is a 501(c)(3) organization built to
preserve, protect, and restore the only Everglades in the world
through research, policy, education, and legal action. Friends of the
Everglades works closely with partners at Bullsugar.org and other
experts in the Everglades restoration community to compel government
agencies to comply with existing environmental laws, and resist
efforts to weaken such laws by creating public awareness of the
importance of the Everglades to the South Florida ecosystem, and
encouraging lawmakers to recognize the consequences of their
actions.
This year Friends of the
Everglades worked with Bullsugar to lead the public
participation effort driving the Corps’ development of a new Lake
Okeechobee System Operating Manual that would prioritize public health
and safety and improve the management of Lake Okeechobee. The fight is
not over and your support will make it possible to continue this work
in 2020!
Please consider donating to
Friends of the Everglades during Give Miami Day (midnight to
midnight on Thursday November 21). You can donate by clicking
here.
For more
information on the work Friends is doing, you can visit their
Facebook, or check
them out at www.everglades.org.
Thanks again for your
support in helping us to protect, preserve, and restore the
only Everglades in the world! Again, please consider donating by
clicking here.
P.S. Please help us build on everything
we've accomplished and become a Bullsugar member today!
