** We're less than one week away from New York’s April 1st budget deadline, and the Renewable Heat Now Campaign is stepping up to get urgent provisions into this year's budget.

You have been working hard to win support for the Renewable Heat Now Legislative Package ([link removed]) as part of the New York State Budget. We are so close to winning more funding for heat pumps, passing an all-electric new construction code starting in 2024, and enacting appliance standards that will save $15 billion in energy costs through 2035. We thank you for the calls, the emails, and particularly the dozens of legislator visits.
Now it’s time to MAKE ONE FINAL PUSH!
Governor Hochul and the leaders of the Senate and the Assembly must get the message loud and clear that New Yorkers expect them to take action in this year’s budget to get fossil fuels out of our buildings. Our State Budget must reflect the urgency of the climate emergency. No watering down of codes and standards! No delaying implementation dates! We need fossil fuels out of new construction starting in 2024. #RenewableHeatNow!
How to make the final push this week:
1. Please join the Twitter & Phone Action for Monday and Tuesday, March 28 & 29. It’s going to be super easy, and you can get most of it ready this weekend! Click here to view our Twitter Action Kit ([link removed]) , and sign up ([link removed]) to participate.
2. If you are near NYC and can attend a rally in NYC on Monday, March 28 ([link removed]) - #GasFreeNY campaign members and allies will be rallying outside Governor Hochul's office to send a loud message that we need action to address the climate and inequality crises right now. 3. Our friends at Food & Water Watch are holding phone banks all week to call other activists and ask them to call important decision-makers about the All-Electric Building Act. If you can join them any day this week from 3-4pm, please sign up here. ([link removed])
