John,

Sadly, Generation Z supports same-sex marriage, gender ideology, and the redefinition of the family more than any previous generation...

...but there's one culture war front where we are winning the hearts and minds of youth: abortion.

Recently, on The 40 Days for Life Podcast, we shared that new polling data reveals Generation Z and Millennials are increasingly pro-life: 40daysforlife.com/Gen-Z-is-pro-life

The research also shows that solid majorities of young people become pro-life when educated on a few basic facts about abortion and fetal development.

To help accelerate these pro-life gains, each year, we award the 4040 Scholarship to a college student who is making an impact on campus.

This year's winner was Eastern Washington University student and Spokane, Washington, 40 Days for Life leader Kathryn Amdahl.

Kathryn has engaged more than 500 churches in her area through her 40 Days for Life campaign. She has also:

  • Launched her Students for Life group on campus
  • Served on a team that knocked on tens of thousands of doors to discuss abortion
  • Helped host a fundraiser that contributed thousands of supplies to seven area pregnancy help centers

If you're a pro-life college student (or know someone who is), check out the application for the next 4040 Scholarship:

The 4040 Scholarship is made possible by donors who want to incentivize and reward pro-life students saving lives on campus. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students in the U.S. are eligible to apply.

Washington, D.C.

A law student named Joshua stole the show at a recent 40 Days for Life rally in the nation's capital.

"Joshua told a story about a college senior who supported legal abortion," Dr. New said. "She took a pregnancy test...and the result came back positive. She knew that she could terminate the pregnancy..."

But when this pro-choice expectant mother saw a bumper sticker that read, "Abortion Stops a Beating Heart," she was convicted to carry the pregnancy to term.

"Joshua had a powerful message: Everything helps!" Dr. New continued. "Any little thing might change somebody's mind...a bumper sticker, a social media post, prayer, sidewalk counseling. You never know who you might influence."

Joshua closed his speech with a surprise twist: He was the baby saved by the bumper sticker. And now he's helping save other moms and babies from abortion.

The Washington campaign has saved three lives this Lent.

Glasgow, Scotland

The Glasgow campaign's community outreach efforts are paying off. Stuart, the outreach coordinator, spoke to a student group at the University of Stirling.

A week later, some of the scholars joined the vigil.

"My heart soared when they arrived and got out of their minibus," recalled vigil shift leader Gloria. "I will never forget that feeling."

While Scotland is not known for being pro-life, the student group's presence made it clear that the 40 Days for Life team is making inroads.

"Whatever it takes to change the culture, we must step up and get it done!" announced David, who participates in the vigil.

Glendale, Arizona

A new pro-life student group at Arizona Christian University has joined the campaign in Glendale.

"The group walked from campus to Planned Parenthood," reported Tammy, the local campaign leader. "We were especially happy to note that Planned Parenthood was closed for the day."

In fact, Tammy noted that Planned Parenthood has been closed more than usual this month!

These all wait for you, that you may give them their food in due season, what you give them they gather in; you open your hand, they are filled with good. You hide your face, they are troubled; you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. You send forth your Spirit, they are created; and you renew the face of the earth.

--Psalm 104:27-30

Beloved Father, remind us today that there is no truth but you. Do not let us fall prey to the evil one’s lie that we may choose death. Remind us right now that you, who created all life, are in control of all life, and let us choose life always. Keep lighting the pathway home, for us and for all who participate in this 40 Days for Life campaign.
