The early spring weather is wonderful and I'm gearing up for it. Thor, who got a haircut, has enjoyed the patio. My windows don't have screens so I purchased some inexpensive 3m screens to stick on so I can have fresh air minus the North Carolina bug population.

The full moon was so incredibly bright here this week and the night was so warm, I simply had no choice but to take a late-night stroll.

I have some very ambitious plans for my small patio this summer. My order from Seeds for Generations arrived and I'm going to be growing all sorts of things in various containers. I'm getting some heirloom tomato seedlings from a local farm - don't worry - even a patio garden must have tomatoes. (Don't miss their Big Birthday Sale this week!)

The things I've never grown in pots are beans and cucumbers, so that part will be trial and error. I think the fact that they're bush beans will work to my advantage. Last year I grew squash but only got one tiny one - however I planted late in the season. I do believe my yellow squash will do much better this year.

My patio is south-facing and has a shaded area for plants that don't like full sun.
