"Historic." It's a word often overused in Congress, Friend, but this week truly merits it.

During her Supreme Court confirmation hearings, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson gave the most skillful, insightful, and candid responses that I've seen in my close to 12 years in the Senate.

As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, it was an honor and a privilege to ask a nominee with such persuasive intellect, varied professional background, and strategic grace, about her judicial record. Judge Jackson will not only make the Court look more like America, but think more like America too.

As expected, some Senate Republicans used these hearings as an opportunity for shameless sideshows and distractions. They knew that there was no way to discount Judge Jackson's extraordinary intellect and character, nor her diverse personal and professional experience, so they launched irrelevant stunts in an attempt to get under her skin. But they failed.

In fact, a new Gallup poll shows that 58% of Americans agree that the Senate should confirm Judge Jackson to the bench. We cannot take any chances, though – not with Mitch McConnell and the GOP caucus's history of torpedoing Supreme Court nominations.

That's why I'm looking for at least 5,000 members of this team to join me in showing support for Judge Jackson's confirmation before midnight tonight. Her voice would be critical on issues like reproductive freedom, voting rights, gun safety, and more, so it's imperative to know where you stand:

If you believe that the Senate should confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, please add your name now.
