In a moment, I’m going to ask if you’ll make a contribution to help kick off my re-election campaign before our first public filing deadline of 2022. [[link removed]] But first, please let me explain why this deadline matters.

I recently filed my paperwork to run in California’s newly drawn 12th district, officially kicking off my re-election campaign.

Since I announced, we’ve seen an incredible outpouring of grassroots support. We’re going to need it this year — Kevin McCarthy and House Republicans are raising tens of millions of dollars to defeat Democrats and retake the majority.

Now, our first major test of the election year is less than one week away. After Thursday’s FEC deadline, we’ll file a quarterly campaign finance report to be made public.

This will be our first benchmark of 2022: We’ll learn exactly how we stack up to other congressional campaigns, and Republicans will be looking at reports like ours to see if Democrats have lost momentum.

We need to send a message, which is why I’m humbly asking for your help today: Will you help us add another 500 grassroots donors to our public fundraising report by adding a contribution before the end-of-quarter deadline?
