John,
In President Biden’s most recent State of the Union, unity was the theme – the gridlocked Congress was the problem – and virtuous bipartisanship as the solution. But therein lies the problem.
WHEN VOTERS SAY BIPARTISANSHIP, they mean cooperation amongst Democrats and Republicans….
WHEN POLITICIANS SAY BIPARTISANSHIP, what many of them mean is making policy decisions to please the corporations that fund corruption on both sides of the aisle.
This kind of corruption translates into watered down policy (at best) – but, really, those poor bills are drowning in the name of “compromise.” And, in reality, corporate interests continue to dictate the agenda.
Our policies should reflect the will of the people, and should stride towards improving the living conditions of real people.
We cannot allow for policy to be dictated by greed or a hunger for power. We must fight against this corruption.
I’m running for congress to represent the interests of real people – not corporations. Because…just a reminder…CORPORATIONS ARE NOT PEOPLE.
It’s time we put power back into the hands of the people by taking away corporations' seats at the table. The people deserve better, and with your support – I will demand better.
Best,
Junaid Ahmed
