John,

This week marked the four-year anniversary of the first March For Our Lives, the student-led movement in response to the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Sadly, we have still seen very little action on gun safety reforms during that time, despite more than 20,000 Americans dying from gun violence in 2021 alone.

My colleagues and I passed two pieces of gun safety legislation last year – neither of which has been passed by the Senate and signed into law.

We can’t afford to wait. Join me in urging Congress to prioritize action on gun violence by signing your name today >> [[link removed]]

Washington State has long been a leader in advocating for and passing commonsense gun safety laws to make our schools, families, and communities safer. Just this month, our state legislature passed landmark legislation to ban the sale of high-capacity magazines.

But gun violence continues to devastate communities across the country every day and threatens Americans in schools, places of worship, and places where we should all feel safe.

Thanks for being with me in the fight to end gun violence,

Marilyn Strickland
