Folks —
A recent study showed that Black women were 80% more likely to adjust their hairstyle to fit in at their jobs. Thanks to the leadership of Democrats in the House, we were able to pass the CROWN Act, which bans discrimination against Black hairstyles in the workplace.
I proudly voted in favor of this anti-discrimination legislation, but I want to hear from you. Can you sign on if you’re with me and support the CROWN Act? [[link removed]]

We’ve seen it in places of work, schools, and recreational activities: the labeling of Black hair as ‘unprofessional’ or ‘messy.’ This sort of discrimination has shut the door on equal opportunity for Black women and girls.
And folks, we can’t forget – this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a ban on hair discrimination in our country. Several states and our military have moved forward with ending hair discrimination.
I believe that it’s our job to empower every person equally and give them an equal shot at success. Thankfully, the CROWN Act is a strong step in that direction.
If you’re with me and are ready to stand strong against discrimination, can you sign your name in support of the CROWN Act right now? [[link removed]]
