After four days of questioning from both parties, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is well on her way to becoming the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court!

It truly was a privilege for Team Plaskett to see Black history unfold in front of our very eyes.

Judge Jackson answered every question with confidence, etiquette, brilliance, and despite every race-baiting comment thrown her way, she rose above and beyond and still demonstrated respect for the Senate.

We can’t exactly say the same for far-right Senators like Ted Cruz. As expected, the Senator from Texas used this as an opportunity to demonize a legal theory, Critical Race Theory, as a way to make Black people disown being Black in order to be legitimate.

It was abhorrent, team. From their line of questioning, it was clear segments of our powerbase still do not want to see strong, Black women in spaces preserved for the privileged. Well, we got news for them: Team Plaskett isn’t afraid of their tactics, and we are doing everything in our power to make sure Judge Jackson is confirmed without delay. Will you pitch in $5 to power our fight today?

But like Senator Booker said, we are on the brink of breaking another glass ceiling, and we will not let anything take away the joy we feel in witnessing Judge Jackson make Black history.

We will embrace the joy, and at the same stand up to race baiting tactics from far-right Republicans afraid of Black progress. Help us stand up to baseless dog whistles and contribute whatever you can today!
