About Her District
Congresswoman Sharice Davids represents Kansas' 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. She won her election against the incumbent Republican by a nearly double-digit margin. She is currently the only Democrat representing Kansas in Congress.
Why She Ran
Rep. Davids worked in economic and community development on Native American reservations, helping tribes to create programs and initiatives for growth. This work inspired her to apply for the prestigious White House Fellowship program, where she served under President Barack Obama and continued to create economic opportunities for others.
Leadership in Action
Davids is the first openly LGBTQ+ Kansan and one of the first two Native American women elected to Congress.
She introduced the Women’s Business Centers Improvement Act (WBCIA), which increases access to resources and opportunities for female entrepreneurs across the country. Last Congressional session, the WBCIA passed with unanimous bipartisan support.
Rep. Davids continues to lead with compassion and honor experiences beyond her own. Just this year, she announced the launch of her fourth annual “Valentines for Vets” program to collect and distribute Valentine’s Day cards to veterans and caregivers in the Kansas Third District.
Sharice Davids’ continued commitment to serve her constituents proves that we need more leaders like her in Congress. She’s an accomplished attorney, a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and trained in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) – we think Rep. Davids is a true all-around inspiration. We are proud to support her as she fights to make sure everyone has the same opportunities to achieve their goals. |
