Africa & Europe
Pray for the Karamoja region of Uganda to have sustainable peace. In the past two years, there has been a resurgence of cattle-rustling, with hundreds of people killed and livestock stolen. Pray for security to return to this region and for IJM to be able to continue working to protect women and children from violence.
Latin America
Pray for the Bolivia team to have wisdom and creativity as they work to share about the AVES & PROBOS volunteer program. The AVES & PROBOS program trains professional volunteer lawyers, investigators and psychologists in best practices for managing casework and aftercare. They form groups that then take pro-bono cases for victims of sexual assault. This program has proven to be a success with these volunteer groups achieving sentences and restoration for their clients. The Bolivia team’s current goal is to create products that would permit it to be shared, contextualized and implemented in other countries and by other organizations.
South Asia
Pray for increased government capacity to provide aftercare services to survivors of sex trafficking. IJM has met many local leaders who have a passion for helping survivors, but they lack in-depth training and victim-sensitivity to know where to help first. Pray for our capacity-building efforts with these government agencies so that they can take full ownership of helping survivors heal from trauma, learn new skills and re-enter society as stronger and hope-filled young leaders.
Southeast Asia
Praise God for the rescue of 13 children from online sexual exploitation by local law enforcement partners and IJM Manila! Please pray for these survivors as they enter a long road of healing. Additionally, continue to pray for children in the Philippines who are still being abused and exploited, and for IJM as they continue to seek to end this crime.
