Sophia Shapiro here, John! I’m Josh’s oldest kid — which means I’ve been with him since his very first run for office. Even as a young kid, I was able to see how strong his values are — and that his value of helping others helped shape me.

My dad has always made it a mission to help other people and take on the big fights for Pennsylvanians. I grew up watching him go to work every day, determined to make a real difference in Pennsylvanians’ lives.

I’m so proud of my dad for running for Governor.

I’m proud of what he does every day to help Pennsylvanians who are getting screwed — and I’m proud of him for the values he’s stuck by since day one. I’ve learned important ones from him like fighting for what’s right and having compassion for others. But one of the most important things I’ve learned from him is how to put in hard work when you really care about something.

My dad puts his whole heart into his work and he’s determined to make a real difference for Pennsylvania. Now, I want to ask you to put your whole heart into this campaign — can you chip in whatever you can to help elect my dad and keep Pennsylvania in Democratic hands?

You’ve probably heard my dad say by now: “We’re taking on the big fights.”

But it’s not just a slogan, John — he lives by those words. It’s been a guiding principle for him in every office he’s served in, from State Representative to Attorney General.

As the People’s Attorney General, he protected access to health care for two million Pennsylvanians. He defended our votes and the results of the 2020 election against Trump’s attacks. And he won a landmark $70 million settlement with a predatory student loan company, absolving students of their debt.

But now my dad’s tackling the next big fight: winning this Governor’s race to move Pennsylvania forward and stop Pennsylvanians from getting screwed. I’ve learned from experience that he’s not one to back down from a fight — including this one, no matter how hard it gets. My dad’s going to put in the work to win this race, and we need to do the same.
