As we celebrate Women's History Month, it is important to take a step back and admire how far women entrepreneurs have come. In 2019, women-owned businesses employed more than 10 million workers and accumulated $1.8 trillion in profit. Today, more Americans are opening new businesses at a record rate -- there were 5.4 million new business applications last year alone. We know that women-owned businesses are a key driver of this growth, especially businesses owned by minority women.

Get Inspired: Small Business Success Story

In celebration of Women's History Month, we are highlighting small business owners like Amna Javeri-Zaidi who is making an impact on the economy and her community.?The jewelry business is a family business for Javeri-Zaidi who owns Frisco, Texas-based?Javeri Jewelers, which has been in her family for five generations. Throughout her journey of business ownership, Javeri-Zaidi has received support from SBA and SBA resource partners. To help with her business plan, she reached out to SCORE,?the nation?s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors. To help expand her business, she applied for an SBA-backed loan from a lender she found using Lender Match.?

Join the IRS for a series of online meetings in March (divided by location/states) for small business organizations and owners. The meetings will include:

  • Tax scams targeting small businesses?
