Do you remember the daily 7:00pm cheer for our healthcare workers? Our city’s success hinges on the health of every single person in our community, and we all benefit from access to quality, affordable healthcare – which includes resources for our local medical centers that serve us and our neighbors.
That’s why, of the $17.7 million in funding that I secured for Brooklyn, over $2 million will be going towards strengthening our healthcare institutions. This includes:
$975,000 for an Infusion Center at New York Community Hospital
$425,000 for critical care equipment at Interfaith Medical Center
$875,000 to expand access to specialty medical services across Brooklyn
As the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated an already stretched-thin medical system, New York’s medical centers have taken a huge hit. I know that it’s more important than ever to show our appreciation for what folks in the healthcare industry do for us – by giving them what they need to do their job.
