# [#]Aloha friends,
It’s been a busy month for Team Green – from major endorsements, to surveys and volunteer events, to news on COVID restrictions and much more. Read on for important updates on COVID, support from HSTA, Hawaii’s water resources, and more!
COVID-19 Update
Tonight at 12:00 am midnight, Hawaii’s current emergency proclamation will end and our indoor state mask mandate will officially be lifted. This is a huge step forward for our state’s recovery and renewal, and an important milestone in our fight against COVID-19.
Together over the last two years, we’ve worn masks, protected our kūpuna, vaccinated over a million people, and saved thousands of lives. Because of the hard work, commitment, and sacrifice of our healthcare heroes and many others, Hawaii made it through the pandemic with the lowest rates of COVID infection and death of any state in the nation.

As we move toward the end of the pandemic and beyond, we can look back knowing that we remained true to our values and did everything we could to protect our families, our neighbors, and our communities.
Support from HSTA
Today the Hawaii State Teachers Association announced its support of Dr. Josh Green for governor. Josh has always been an ally of teachers and public schools in Hawaii, and as governor he'll make supporting teachers, investing in schools, and improving the quality of public education top priorities.
"I support Hawaii’s teachers,” Josh said, “and I’m proud to have the support of HSTA. Every child in Hawaii deserves a first class public education no matter what zip code they live in, and the mission and values of HSTA align with that goal. I will work side by side with HSTA to give our teachers and students the tools they need to succeed."
World Water Day
This week, we celebrated World Water Day. Hawaii has some of the most precious water resources on the planet, and it’s our kuleana to protect them. The recent announcement that Red Hill is being shut down for good shows what we can do when we stand together to protect Hawaii’s water.
We will continue to face environmental challenges in the coming years, and Josh will keep fighting to protect our water, our lands, and the health and safety of our people. Please share with Josh which environmental issues and priorities are most important to you.
There’s still time to take our Hawaii Environmental Survey and made your voice heard as we continue the fight against climate change >> [[link removed]]
Event Update
Earlier this month, Lt. Governor Green visited the Maui Economic Opportunity’s Wailuku and Puʻunēnē offices to talk about all things kūpuna care with the experts. Josh thanked the MEO staff for their important work caring for our kūpuna during the COVID-19 pandemic.
