National Republican groups are funneling nearly $4 million dollars through the Maine Republican Party to reserve TV ad bookings to attack Janet Mills and elect Paul LePage.

Why is the national Republican Governors Association giving millions of dollars to the Maine Republican Party? If they want to elect Paul LePage, why wouldn’t they just spend the money on TV Ads themselves?

Because the national Republican Party wants to hide behind the Maine GOP.

They don’t want Mainers to know that extremists like Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis are propping up Paul LePage’s campaign. And once they have LePage in Maine, he’ll have all the support he needs from national Republicans to take away abortion rights, attack LGBTQ+ Mainers, and halt any support Mainers have received during the pandemic.

But we know the truth, John. Mainers are proud of the progress we’ve made under Governor Janet Mills, even in the face of a global pandemic. Mainers are proud of affordable health care, fighting the climate crisis, and protecting abortion rights. We can continue moving forward by reelecting Governor Mills and Democrats up and down the ballot.
