Dear Fraser Institute supporter,

It is with great pride and excitement that I share with you the news that the Fraser Institute is integrating the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies (AIMS), the leading free market think tank in Atlantic Canada, into our organization. AIMS will become a new, standalone initiative within the Fraser Institute that will be dedicated to research and outreach on public policy in Atlantic Canada. The addition of AIMS to the Fraser Institute means our organization is now the country’s largest independent think-tank with an on-the-ground presence from coast to coast.

With offices from Vancouver to Halifax, we are positioned to provide much needed research and outreach to Canadians from one side of the country to the other with the aim of improving public policies at the local, provincial, and federal levels so as to achieve a better, more prosperous tomorrow.

Since its creation 25 years ago, AIMS has served as a distinctive Atlantic Canadian voice on economic and public policy issues affecting the region, and it will continue to do so.

Later this week, we are releasing our first study post-merger for the region, Catching Up with Canada: A Prosperity Agenda for Atlantic Canada ([link removed]), which establishes the goals for our new Atlantic Canada Initiative. We believe with sound, more market-oriented policies there is no reason Atlantic Canada cannot prosper given its entrepreneurial potential and long history of industriousness. As always, it’s about getting the economic environment and institutions right through better public policies to unleash the creativity, innovation, and productivity of entrepreneurs, workers, and businesses.

This merger represents a tremendous opportunity for the Fraser Institute to reach even more Canadians about how government policy affects them and future generations. We thank you for your continued support, which has allowed the Institute to continue to grow and expand at a time when we are needed more than ever.

Sincerely,

Niels Veldhuis
President

The Fraser Institute
