UPDATE: Retail stores in New Mexico will start selling cannabis on April 1!
New Mexico is one of 18 states to legalize cannabis – and as advocates push for federal legalization, Gov. Lujan Grisham wants to know what you think about this issue.
We need 20,000 Team MLG supporters to answer our poll before it closes at midnight, so tell us now:
Should the U.S. federally legalize cannabis?
This is a HUGE progressive victory, John: Gov. Lujan Grisham legalized cannabis statewide last year, and New Mexicans will be able to buy it at retail stores one week from today!
Cannabis legalization opens doors for workers and entrepreneurs to participate in a burgeoning industry that stimulates our economy and creates tax revenue for state projects.
At the same time, legalization will stop the disproportionate impact the failed War on Drugs has had on people of color for cannabis possession and will reduce violence in communities and neighborhoods.
While New Mexico is paving the way forward, most U.S. states still outlaw cannabis. That's why our team put together this poll to find out what YOU think about this important issue, but we're missing your response:
