Dear Friend,
In 2020, the Trump administration invoked public health law Title 42, using the pandemic as a pretext to expel asylum seekers and migrants—and the Biden administration has done nothing to stop it.
Since President Biden took office, he has overseen the expulsion of 1.3 million refugees. His administration has effectively championed the misuse of Title 42 by extending, defending, and funding the policy for over a year.
The policy is unlawful, immoral, and cruel. Sign the petition calling on the Biden administration to end the use of Title 42 to expel asylum seekers.

Top CDC officials opposed the policy from the start, noting it does nothing to protect public health. The purpose of using Title 42 was never to protect Americans from COVID, but to deny asylum seekers their day in court.
During President Biden’s tenure, nearly 10,000 people have been kidnapped, beaten, tortured, or raped in Mexico after being expelled under Title 42. This includes hundreds of LGBTQ asylum seekers who came to the U.S. to be safe and to live as their true selves.
LGBTQ asylum seekers are being illegally expelled without being given the chance to present their asylum claims. Please add your name to the petition calling on the Biden administration to end this practice immediately.

LGBTQ asylum seekers are being sent back to Mexico or to their countries of origin, putting them in grave danger. Those who are forced to wait in Mexico are vulnerable to kidnappings and rape by cartels and the Mexican police.
During his campaign, President Biden said, “We're going to restore our moral standing in the world and our historic role as a safe haven for refugees and asylum seekers.” But for as long as his administration continues to misuse Title 42 to the detriment of LGBTQ refugees, that statement will be an empty promise.
Thank you,
Aaron C. Morris, Executive Director
