Last week, I had the honor of marching with hundreds of LGBTQ+ youth and allies taking a stand against the despicable Don’t Say Gay bill on Ron DeSantis’s desk.
Seeing so many young Floridians refusing to be silenced by the GOP’s hateful agenda was nothing short of inspiring. It reminded me why I’m in this fight—not just to make history as a Black queer woman, but to make a difference for the people of Florida.
Sadly, Florida is just the tip of the iceberg. Republicans in Congress are emboldened—and it’s just a matter of time before they pass cruel legislation like this at the federal level.
