Hi Friend – I wanted to quickly reach out and see if you had any hopes to share with Mad and our team!
We are officially in spring which means: spring cleaning, blooming flowers and fresh beginnings. The past two years have been heavy, but Democrats have worked hard to show up and deliver for hard-working Americans. Things like beefing up our infrastructure, ensuring vaccines and COVID testing is readily available, and so much more .
So, is there something you are looking forward to this spring? Let Mad know here. [[link removed]]
Whether it is looking forward to driving on a fresh road from the Democratic Infrastructure funding or spending time with your loved-ones to pick a fresh bouquet from Mad’s old employer, Penny Flowers – we would love to hear it.
Happy spring, Friend.

Dear Friend,
I love spring, which is not surprising considering where I used to work. When I was 14, I got my very first job at the local flower shop in the heart of Glenside: Penny’s Flowers.

Penny's has been a staple of the Glenside community since 1937. It's been a while since I worked at Penny's, but I still love to shop there – in fact, I just bought flowers for a friend yesterday!
My job at Penny’s Flowers – particularly working for the founder, Mr. Vincent Pannepacker – helped me both develop a strong work ethic and learn how to be a team player – two important skills I still practice as a member of Congress. Now every spring when the flowers begin to bloom I think about that job I loved and the change of seasons – both of which give me hope.
And so this spring, while mindful of the many challenges ahead, there is much that gives me hope. Here are just a few examples from my recent work in Congress:
➡️ New funding just passed by Democrats in the new Omnibus bill that will go to strengthening our transportation infrastructure
➡️ The recent renewal of Violence Against Women Act which Republicans had allowed to expire back in 2018
➡️ House passage of the FAIR Act which, if signed into law, will broadly end forced arbitration for both consumers and small businesses – a huge leveling of the playing field with corporate giants and a win for Main Street, especially on the heels of the President’s recent signing of the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act
➡️ $7 million dedicated to ten new community projects to upgrade our infrastructure right here in PA-04
For me, spring has always meant the promise of blooming white hydrangeas, new life, and new beginnings. So, what are you hopeful for this spring? Let me know here. [[link removed]]

Don’t forget to take a moment today to stop and smell the spring air as we jump into a new season.
Sincerely,
Mad
